Donation in lieu of Gifts
Most organisations send their clients gifts in the lead up to Christmas as a ‘thank you’ for the business received throughout the year. This year why not do it differently? Instead of giving corporate gifts, contribute to suicide prevention by promoting mental health among our young people and educating them about the warning signs of suicide.
To do this, support HeadsUp, Rehab’s suicide prevention campaign aimed at 15-24yr olds. The aim of HeadsUp is to encourage young people to be more open to mental health issues, more informed, more likely to seek help if required and more supportive to people experiencing mental ill health. Rehab will provide you with a letter acknowledging your contribution which you can then forward on to your clients.
HeadsUp Initiatives
- HeadsUp Text, a free and confidential, 24-hour automated text service
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills, a training course, which equips people with the knowledge and the ability to recognise the warning signs of suicidal behaviour
- HeadsUp Lifeskills, a course aimed at enhancing young people’s skills and abilities in dealing with life’s ups and downs.
- Raising Boys for Fathers, a parenting programme which helps fathers to improve communications skills with their sons in dealing with life’s problems.
- HeadsUp.ie, an interactive websites that includes a host of cutting-edge features including Mind Gym, Self Help modules along with information on support services, well-being tips and fact sheets.
How Your Contribution Will Make A Difference
HeadsUp is sustained solely on fundraising efforts.
By making a contribution you are helping us to:
- Provide timely and appropriate services to young people in need
- Educate young people about the signs of suicide
- Promote mental health well being
- Continue delivering free training courses nationwide
- Maintain and develop the website
- Encourage young people to talk about their feelings
TEN TIMES more money is spent on road safety measures than on suicide prevention despite the fact that more people kill themselves than die on the roads.
